Outsourcing can be an extremely complex and complicated undertaking. Each facet of the exercise needs to be carefully considered and properly executed. There is little margin for error if full value is to be obtained.
However, this need not be a trauma, nor an adventure of blind exploration. The potential benefits are well documented, and strategic outsourcing is now mature enough for the path to have been trodden countless times previously.
As being said if an IT operation is in a strategic service it will be kept in house,while if it is a commodittyand can provide inexpensively...thenit can be outsource.But this two approaches lead to disappointment becauseif a manager will place big bet in their markets,future technology and supplier's capabilities..they will end up in signing up a five or ten year contract w/o considering that they cannot predict what will be the change in the business condition in two year.To overcome w/ that problemmanager should not make onetime decision whether to outsource it or not.Instead ,they should create an environment in w/c potential IT services..In that way IT industry enables company to create a competitive environment.Outsourcing or not to outsource is a very difficult decision making because it has a big impact in a company ,whether it can affect badly or it can help the company to be more competent from the other.As a company decide what to outsource ...next to that is to choose for a supplier that can ensure tap supplier from ending up w/ to much power.The process of outsourcing also affect to the one who manage the system because their job had a change and will lead to the dificulty of understading it.
As IT manages outsourcing well... then it can effectively controls IT services and can pursue a different solution with an existence one prove wanting and will end up having an ability to recognize and exploit changes in their market
